Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies rely on browned butter and a short chill for maximum flavor and the perfect chew.

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter (melted and browned) 226.00 g
  • Brown sugar 200.00 g
  • Granulated sugar 100.00 g
  • Large eggs 2.00 pc
  • Vanilla extract 2.00 tsp
  • All-purpose flour (sifted) 320.00 g
  • Baking soda 1.00 tsp
  • Salt 1.00 tsp
  • Chocolate chips 300.00 g

Method

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan until nutty and golden, then cool slightly.
  2. Whisk browned butter with both sugars until glossy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla until pale and thick.
  4. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop onto a lined tray and bake at 190°C for 11-13 minutes until edges are golden.
